  • Inventory is very limited due to current demand, and laptops are only being distributed to students at this time.
  • Reservations are required and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made two weeks in advance of the pick-up/delivery date.
  • Laptops are currently being issued for the duration of one academic quarter as a short-term solution for student's technology needs. 


  • Laptops may be borrowed for academic use only.
  • Laptops may be borrowed for one academic quarter only.
  • Reservations will be canceled if the laptop is not picked up at the scheduled time.
  • Laptops are remotely locked if not returned within 1 hour of the scheduled return time.
  • Cal Poly is not responsible for damage to personal equipment used in conjunction with Tech Rental laptops.
  • Laptops must be returned in the condition in which it was received. Lost or damaged laptops will be charged to you at current replacement costs.
  • Failure to return items within 1 hour of the scheduled return time will result in late fees of $15 per day. Unpaid fees or laptop damage costs result in the suspension of your laptop rental account, an academic hold is placed on your student record, and a referral to the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities.
