Inventory is very limited due to current demand, and laptops are only being distributed to students at this time.
Reservations are required and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made two weeks in advance of the pick-up/delivery date.
Laptops are currently being issued for the duration of one academic quarter as a short-term solution for student's technology needs.
Policies
Laptops may be borrowed for academic use only.
Laptops may be borrowed up to 3 times per year, with each rental lasting a maximum of 10 weeks. After each rental, laptops must be returned to the Service Desk.
Reservations will be canceled if the laptop is not picked up at the scheduled time.
Laptops are remotely locked if not returned within 1 hour of the scheduled return time.
Cal Poly is not responsible for damage to personal equipment used with Tech Rental laptops.
Laptops must be returned in the condition in which it was received.
Dirty, stickered, or otherwise defaced equipment will be assessed a service fee.
Lost or damaged laptops will be charged to you at current replacement costs.
Failure to return items within 1 hour of the scheduled return time will result in late fees of $15 per day. Unpaid fees or laptop damage costs result in suspending your Tech Rental account and a referral to the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities.
